STATEMENT OF FAITH

Larry Ramsour Evangelistic Association is a Christian, evangelical, non-profit, charitable corporation engaged in presenting the Good News of God's revelation of Himself in Jesus Christ in the United States and abroad. The following statement reflects the beliefs that are foundational to our mission purpose: that of sharing the Biblical Message of the salvation and redemption of the human race through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross.

WE BELIEVE:

That the Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God;

That there is one true Sovereign, Creator God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- co-equal and eternal in existence;

That there is a personal being called Satan, who is identified as the devil, and whose global pretensions represent all that is evil and at variance with the Holiness of God; that Satan's power is great, although comparable in no way to the power and attributes of God; and that the purpose of Satan, since the beginning of the human race, has been to deceive and destroy mankind;

That man, the crowning achievement of all God's creation, was made in His image, but that he willfully chose to rebel against his Creator, thereby plunging the human race into its lost and sinful condition, in which man is condemned before God and is unable, in his unsaved state to save himself;

That Jesus Christ is the sinless, virgin-born, Son of God, and that through His substitutionary death, the forgiveness of sin and life everlasting is offered to all who will believe on Him; that Jesus rose bodily from the grave; that He ascended into heaven after many infallible proofs of His resurrection, and that He will personally return, at a time of His Sovereign choosing, for the purpose of gathering unto Himself all of the redeemed of the ages for all eternity;

That salvation is appropriated by grace alone through faith in Christ; that man must be born again by confessing his faith in Christ as Lord, thereby receiving Him personally into his heart; that salvation is not achieved through any work, or merit on the part of man, but that when one is saved, he is "created" unto good works as a fruit of the salvation experience;

That the Holy Spirit is God's manifestation of Himself unto the believer, not only indwelling him from the moment of salvation, but available through daily cleansing and infilling, to guide and empower him to live a faithful and godly life of service and ministry unto the Lord;

That those who have experienced Christ and His salvation are unified with all true believers in a universal fellowship that is identified by the Scripture as the Body of Christ; and that the visible, identifiable manifestation of that Body is the local church, to which every believer is to relate and identify in loving fellowship, fruitful service, and meaningful ministry;

That our Lord Jesus Christ has commissioned His followers to share the message of salvation with people everywhere -- from the entrance of our residence to the ends of the earth; that we are to share our witness with them, inviting them to personally receive Christ; and that we are to make disciples of those who come to Him in faith.

IT IS OUR CONVICTION THAT

no "Statement of Faith" written by man, whether composed by an individual or as a result of the collaborative efforts of many, is adequate to fully express the Divine intent of the Scriptures, and that any doctrinal statement devised by man, however lofty in intent, should be recognized as being inferior to the Scriptures. There is but one sole source of truth, and that is the Bible itself. All so-called "statements of faith" must be judged by the authoritative Word of God, and no verbal interpretation of Scripture should be the cause of disputations nor divisiveness between Believers in Christ who are in agreement with the basic fundamentals of the Gospel.
